Newens Sensei is a board member in the Takemusu Aikido Association, the Head Instructor at the Aikido Institute in Davis, and is the author of the 7 DVD Series “Aikido Curriculum” which covers a tremendous range of Aikido training, as well as the book “Aikido Insights” — a collection of 31 essays written over 15 years where he shares his insights on various aspects of Aikido training, including, amongst others: conflict resolution, kata practice, and the concept of Rei in martial arts.  In addition to being one of the most senior aikidoka in the transmission of Morihiro Saito; Newens Sensei has also trained in Wu Tai Chi and Chi Kung since 1987.
